The Noonies: Vote For Your Favorite Social Network, Blockchain Startup

Earlier today I found out Hacker Noon, the publication that once was a Medium rock star, is hosting two reader polls. One is focused on favorite social networks, and the other is focused on blockchain startups. Both Steemit and Narrative are among the voting options.

Social Network of the Year

Interestingly, in the Social Network of the Year category, readers can vote for all the typical legacy social brands, including:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube
  • Pinterest
  • Facebook Messenger
  • WeChat

and, of course, some of the bigger up-and-coming brands like Telegram and WhatsApp. But there are also some names on the list you may not be familiar with such Strava, Foxie, Zenly, gab, Qzone, QQ, AllSocial, and Cake.  In addition to all of these brands are Steemit and Narrative, two of my favorite blockchain-based social platforms.

Voting is a very short window, the next 24 hours. To cast your vote, click here.

Most Exciting Startup

The Most Exciting Startup category is interesting. Steemit, having recently exited beta, is not on the list. But Narrative, having recently entered beta, is.

The cool thing about this list is all of the startups are blockchain-based startups. The list includes:

  • Carbon
  • Achieved
  • Looxie
  • Everipedia
  • Narrative
  • She-VC
  • Matter
  • Superhuman
  • Evbox
  • Karma
  • Food Alliance
  • Codeac
  • Publish0x
  • TranslateMe
  • GuestBoard
  • BillKarma
  • Xooa
  • Lynx
  • Alan
  • Oneup
  • Elium
  • Flexa
  • Golance
  • WorldsIBU
  • Passbase

That’s quite a list!
